The 2nd XI were 2nd best against a strong Crymych team.
Crymych batted first and set a huge target of 267 for the loss of 5 wickets after recovering from 11-2 after 4 overs, with Richard Thorne 126 and Sam Kurtz 67 doing most o the damage. It was a young Hook side with no fewer than 5 U14’s in the team including 13 year old Dillon James making his senior debut.
Andrew Thomas 2-33 Chris Holder 2-43 and Dillon James with his first senior wicket on his debut 1- 58 were the wicket takers.
Unfortunately we lost early wickets and never really looked like chasing down such a large target and only Jon Clout 39 Phil Griffiths 27 and Keith James 18 really troubled the scorers as we were all out for 145.
Hook (149-3) beat Carew 2nds (148-8)
Skipper Jamie Phelps scored 71 as Hook got their promotion charge back on track by chasing down Carew 2nds.
Carew posted a total of 148-8, thanks mainly to opener Haydn Shapcott who top scored 52, Rhys Grigg 36 and Morgan Greive 20
Dai Hopkins 2-35, Aled Phelps 2-28, Matthew Holder 2-63, and Callum James with a great spell of bowling 1-12 off his 12 overs
Carew struck early in the Hook reply as Kerry Waters 1-27 had George James caught, but then came a stand of 94 between Father & Son Jamie and Aled Phelps before Aled was caught for 40. Jamie soon followed after for 72 but Brennan Martin smashed two fours and two sixes to finish 22 not out as he and Jacob Lay (1 not out) finished the job.
Saturdays Bonus Ball was ball 42 which has been drawn once before so no change to the leader Board. Jackpot is now at £510
