Looking better

Having had confirmation from ECB that we are ok to carry out work on our wicket. A full risk assessment was carried out and social distancing measures were strictly kept to. In fact like any other time work gets done on the square there wasn’t a player to be seen for miles ?. I know there were more jobs that I should have done before I left because David Petrie didn’t turn up and as we all know he always turns up when we have just finished everything ??

Getting there slowly

Thanks to Andrew Thomas for cutting the outfield at the weekend and now the square is also looking a lot more like a cricket square after being mowed and brushed, mind having said that I wouldn’t fancy facing the new slimline Brennan Martin steaming down the hill until there have been a good few hours of rolling yet. After all the rain we’ve had since October it’s just typical that we have now gone to the other extreme where I have had to water the square today which will hopefully soften it up enough for me to roll it tomorrow.

Hopefully take not all in vain and we will get to see some cricket played later on this summer.

Hopefully catch you all soon. Stay safe ??
