Clubmark Accreditation

Breaking News !!

Hook Cricket Club have just been informed that we have achieved our Clubmark Accreditation for the next 3 years.

The standards required to achieve Clubmark Accreditation have become far more testing this time around and the club would like to extend a massive thank you to Jon Willington for the huge amount of work he did to ensure we met all the standards required.

ECB Clubmark shows that a club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members. Clubmark accreditation also means your club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.

New Club Clothing Shop

A big thank you to Jamie Phelps for all the work he has put in arranging for a club clothing store online. Hopefully all players will take advantage of this to buy the Hook C C official whites this season. Good quality clothing from the Gray Nicholls range.

Jamie is looking to place a bulk order in the next couple of weeks which will be a saving on postage costs so give him a shout with your orders and payment ASAP.

Hook/Llangwm U15’s reach final

Congratulations to the Hook / Llangwm under 15s squad who last night beat Whitland to reach the county final.

The final will be played against Cresselly / Stackpole at St Ishmaels CC on 16th August starting at 5:30pm.

Match report by Jon Willington

Whitland 56 for 5 v Hook / Llangwm 87 for 5

Captain Callum Jenkins certainly played a skippers role in guiding his young team to the county final in a 31 run victory. Batting first Callum hit 29, matched by Joe Phillips. Lewis Miller went early for 1, Finlay Elrick hit 7 and Seth Willington 3 not out.

Callum then picked up 2 for 7 alongside Lewis Miller 1 for 4 and Jack Phillips 1 for 5 in an excellent team bowling performance that saw nine players bowl.

An excellent performance from this young team ( one U10, two u11, one u12, five u13 players) and a deserved place in the county final.

Good Luck boys in the final

Under 13’s reach final

Last night saw Hook U13’s get the better of Kilgetty U13’s in their semi-final clash in Hook. With both teams missing players through holidays or injuries Hook certainly looked to be the stronger of the 2 sides. This proved to be the case as Kilgetty were dismissed for just 18 runs largely due to some great bowling from the Hook team.

Hook then knocked off the required runs within 5 overs to reach the final which will be played next Wednesday 8th August at Cresselly with a 5:30pm start.

Good luck boys in the final
